The 108 ATV Club is currently circulating two petitions to members of the community. Short descriptions of both petitions are provided below plus the actual petitions can be accessed and downloaded. Road Access Petition

Background info

  • Many Canadian Provinces, USA States and countries allow ATVs on rural community roads.
  • Currently, 37 rural communities in BC allow access to community roads.
  • Encourages tourism and economic diversification.
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Reduces RCMP callout work load.

Road Access – Petition Statement

The residents and businesses of the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) petition the RCMP and CRD for legal access of licensed and insured All Terrain Vehicles and Golf Carts on 50 kph or slower paved and gravel streets/roads to access the Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail and other recreational trails. Access is allowed under Section 24.02 of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations (MVAR) through an RCMP issued permit allowing access. See ICBC Bulletins MV1445 and MV1815.

108 Mile Ranch Greenbelt Petition

The residents and businesses of 108 Mile Ranch petition the 108 Mile Ranch Greenbelt Commission for legal access of licensed and insured ATVs and Golf carts to cross 108 Greenbelt lands in 2 specific locations for access in order to gain access to the Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail. These pathways will be well marked and signs will be installed requiring all to stay on the access corridors.

Location 1 – West Beach parking lot to the 108 Resort property next to the Pipeline.

Location 2 – The emergency exit to Tatton Road that was established across the Greenbelt lands in 2022.
